How to Make Busy Mornings Better With Coffee
For many people, coffee is an essential part of the day. However, busy people often rush through coffee without savoring it. Working a little extra time into your schedule to allow for a more relaxed coffee time, or adding some extra stress-relievers into that time, can make a big difference.
Take Time to Relax and Plan
Many people drink their coffee on the go or while they’re busy doing something else, like making breakfast, getting kids ready for school, or getting a head start on work or chores. However, slowing down and taking a few minutes to simply sit, observe the world around you as it wakes up, and enjoy your coffee can help to reduce stress and anxiety. This is also a great time to calmly plan the day ahead, organize tasks, and decide what to do to create a fun, efficient day.
Choose a High Quality Coffee
For many, coffee is the most important beverage of the day, so it only makes sense to drink something that tastes good. This is especially true if you only plan to have one or two cups. Choosing a high quality coffee, such as a Colombian whole bean coffee, helps you ensure you’re getting a cup of coffee that’s rich and full of flavor. If you like sweet coffee drinks, you can also add a creamer, a shot of syrup, or whipped cream. Adding a spoonful of hot cocoa mix is also a fast, easy way to create a mocha.
Read a Book
With a busy schedule, people often let fun hobbies, such as reading, slip away. Reading a book while having your coffee is a fantastic way to ease into the day while also waking up your mind. If you’re not a big reader, you might want to do a crossword puzzle or listen to a podcast.
Share Coffee With Friends
Coordinating schedules with friends can often be challenging. Coffee, however, doesn’t take as long as sitting down for lunch or dinner, so it’s a great option for meeting up with friends. Starting the day with a fun conversation can also elevate your mood.
Meditate
Meditation can help you center yourself while reducing stress and anxiety. After a few sips of coffee, you can sit and meditate for five or 10 minutes, and this will clear your mind for the day ahead.
Having coffee should be a time to relax, enjoy the moment, and get your day off to the right start. Working a few different things into your coffee time, or simply taking a few extra moments, can make the rest of your day flow much more smoothly.
