How to Organize Your Home: Tips for Working Moms
Once you have kids and a full-time job, it is quite hard to make your home organized and clean at all times. But there are ways you can keep your home nice-looking and organized with minimum effort. Keeping your home organized will not take time but consistency. It is important that you stay on top of the mess in order to stay organized.
You Must Plan
The best way to organize your home is for you to be organized. In order to do so, you will need to keep a list of everything that needs to be done in a day. That way you will have a clear picture of things that you need to do to keep your home organized. It will also provide you with a sense of satisfaction when you check off the things on the list.
Break Your Tasks Down
Putting one large task on your list like cleaning the whole bathroom can be overwhelming, split it up into smaller tasks like cleaning the toilet and bathtub and wipe down the mirror. That way you won’t be as stressed.
Set Aside A Little Time Every Day
Depending on who much free time you have when you come home from work, decide how much time you will dedicate to cleaning and organizing. There is no need for you to clean for an hour straight every day when you come home from work. Giving yourself 20 minutes each day and being really productive during those times is better than taking an hour and not being productive at all. It is completely fine if you don’t manage to do all the things you have on your list.
Make Your Bed First Thing in the Morning
There is nothing that is so simple yet will make your room look organized and clean than making your bed right as you wake up. It will not only make your room look amazing; it will make you more productive. Making your bed will take less than a minute but it will make your room look organized and you less stressed.
Get Your Children Involved
If your children are old enough to do chores, make them your little helpers. Teach them how to put away laundry, unload the dishwasher or to put their toys away when they are done playing. You are not only making them engaged with the whole family, you are teaching them responsibilities and hard work. By letting them partake in minor chores, you are keeping them occupied so you can make sure that you can get the cleaning done. You can even use weekly chore charts for them and reward them by putting little gold stars and giving them a small prize or allowance.
Declutter
We have all heard of the famous Marie Kondo book about decluttering and living a minimalist life. Although living a minimalist life is quite hard when you are a family with kids, getting rid of all the things that you and your children don’t use anymore will make your home look organized even when it is not. The fewer things you have just lying around the more it will look like it’s clean and organized.
If you’re About to Move Out
If you are a family that rents out an apartment or house, those end of the leases can creep up on you when you are a working mom. There is so much you will need to do before moving out so instead of taking days off and losing money just to clean the house, simply ask a cleaning company like Simply Spotless Cleaning to do the bond cleaning for you.
It is important that you know that when you are a family with children, you can’t expect to have a tidy and organized home. All you can do is try your best to keep it organized by doing little chores every day. Because not having a perfect home is what it makes it a home.
