Start Early: Goal Setting for Moms in 2023
2023 is coming soon and as a mom, we know you are always thinking ahead. This means you most likely have started thinking about changes you want to make for yourself and your life in the coming year. The best way to start new habits and make changes to your life is to set specific goals for 2023 now so that you have a plan in effect for the New Year. Keep reading for important ideas and tips for goal setting for the new year.
Get Organized
One goal many mothers might set for themselves is to stay more organized. Between managing school schedules, sports, medical appointments, and social events, it can be hard to keep track of everything! Getting organized can reduce stress by helping you plan ahead and avoid forgetting important events and tasks. One way to get organized is to utilize a family organizer. This will allow you to clearly manage the families staggering schedules and give a clear picture as to what time you have available.
Prioritize Your Health
As a mother, it’s almost like second nature to be thinking about others. However, prioritizing yourself actually allows you to take better care of your loved ones.
This year, find time for yourself. Set the goal of finding and sticking with your own bedtime routine. As you age (especially postpartum), you might have seen hormonal changes in yourself which can affect your skin and hair. Try finding a facewash that works for your skin type to clean your face and pores before bed each night. If you are finding that your hair is feeling fine and even thinning you might want to tackle your hair care in the new year. This thinning could be due to hormone imbalance, an underlying condition you may have, or many other reasons. While prioritizing your hair care, talk to your doctor and see if taking a once-daily hair pill is the right option for you.
Stay Active
Stay active daily by trying yoga, attending a workout class, or going for a walk. A common goal for each new year is to exercise more, however, a lot of people only follow through on this goal for a couple of weeks until their day-to-day obligations make them busy again. So make sure you are finding time every day to stay moving, even if it is just 15 minutes a day. As a mother, it can be hard to find the time to make it to the gym or even to find a gym that has child care. If you have a young child at home, look into finding a stroller that works for daily walks now so that you are ready for your daily 2023 exercise.
Set a Family Goal
Find more family time in 2023. With everyone’s schedules being different make sure you block out time to do things as a family. Set specific goals within your family that you collaborate on together. These goals could be as simple as you want to sit down together every night for dinner or you start assigning weekly chores so everyone can do their part. Little goals like this that you set in advance will become habits over the year and improve not only your daily life but strengthen your family relationship.
2023 is the year for moms! Let’s plan ahead and make this the best year yet. With less stress, new habits, and being more goal-focused you are ready to take on anything this new year throws your way.
