How To Help Your Child Fall in Love With Reading

If you’re a parent  struggling with how to get your child to read, many different things can be done. Get them involved in activities such as reading newspapers and magazines, become part of their book club or reading club, or even join a book club yourself! Pay attention to the books they enjoy; see what types of books they are drawn to.

Encourage Them to Read Anything and Everything

It would be best to encourage your child to read every day. It can be as simple as reading for five minutes in the morning or even just flipping through the pages of a book and seeing what it is about. Make reading very easy and not a big deal by not making it a chore that they have to do.

Get a Library Card or Kindle

Another good way to interest your child  in reading is to get them a library card or kindle for them and take them to the library often. They will have many more books to choose from, and you won’t have to spend a substantial amount of money. The library offers a lot of different things for children, including magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, movies and puzzles.

Read With Friends

Another great way to interest your child in reading is to read with friends. Go online and chat with some friends, or set up a play date so that you can all be involved in the same activity, which will make it all the more fun. You could also use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to read with other people.

Keep Books In Your House

Have plenty of books around the house. It is an important step because you want them to see books all over and not just in your room. It will tempt them to read, and they will be able to pick up a book when they feel like it easily.

Have Your Child Join a Reading Club

Reading clubs are a great way to interest your child  in reading because they can do it with other people. It can be a lot of fun because they will be doing something they like, with people they enjoy being around. There is always more fun with friends and other children interested in the same things as you. Reading clubs are very easy to join, no matter your child’s age, so consider enrolling your children in a kid’s reading program for children of all ages.

The best thing you can do to help your child become more  interested in reading is to get them involved. Get them involved in school, join a book club, go to the library and read with friends, or go online and chat with other people. These are great ways to have your child read more often.
