How to Maintain the Guest Bathroom With Kids
It is not easy to maintain your bathroom when you have kids. While you may want to keep it as neat as possible for the sake of your numerous guests, it could be the most challenging thing to do. You will have to keep on cleaning and trying to put things in order. Below are several strategies you can implement to keep your bathroom neat and clean.
Create a Storage System
No matter the size of your bathroom, it is a good idea to create storage space for each item. Let everything be in the right place for easy access by your kids and guests. For clear identification, you can label each item to avoid mix-up, especially with your kids. A child can pick up anything such as a toothbrush belonging to your guest and use it.
To avoid clutter, teach your kids to always return an item to the right place after using it. If the bathroom is large, consider investing in large baskets for adequate storage. Additionally, learn always to check the bathroom after your kid’s usage and ensure it is clean.
Balance Fun, Good Scent, and Maturity
The best way to make your bathroom accommodative to your guests and other family members is by balancing fun and maturity and adding a little bit of good scent with toilet drops. This will make everyone comfortable using the bathroom.
However, please do not make it overly luxurious because it may not be the best choice for your kids. They are just kids anyway, and making your bathroom perfect isn’t suitable for them. You might end losing things because your kids can break them or discolor the beautiful items.
These are some of the things children do, and unless you’re available 24/7, you may not be able to control how your children use the bathroom.
Special Touches
You can also add a personal touch to your bathroom with neutral and bold colors. Paint the walls with cool colors and change the curtains, towels, mats with colors that match the architectural finishing of your bathroom. You want the space to have a blended touch and finishing, making your guests and family members comfortable and fun.
Keeping up with bathroom maintenance can be frustrating and time-consuming. Try and keep up with a schedule to keep your bathroom neat all the time. You can involve other family members by creating a cleaning schedule for each individual and follow up to ensure everyone abides by their timetables.
