If you are looking for a snack to feed the kids after school that’s tasty and good for them, then you need to give Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Hummus a try! Say what…….say yes to this delicious protein-fueled dip to serve to your unsuspecting audience.
It’s a great snack for Moms too because it’s low in fat and calories and high in protein and taste. It’s the perfect afternoon snack to stave off hunger, refuel after a workout and keep your healthy eating goals on track. It’s really easy to make, stores well and we all agree that it tastes deceptively delicious. I tried a few variations with the kids and here is the one that we love the best!
Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Hummus
Ingredients
1 19 oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup of natural peanut butter, almond butter or your favorite nut butter ( crunchy or smooth)
1/3 cup honey or agave syrup
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Cinnamon to taste
Directions
Place all ingredients except the chocolate chips in a food processor, mix until smooth then transfer to a bowl and stir in the chocolate chips. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to use. We served it with apple slices and animal crackers for the little ones but you can also try it with pretzels, apple slices, carrots & celery sticks ……..even just by the spoonful!!
